Wild Wings

Wings are my latest obsession, so it was only natural that I rushed to Wild Wings once I heard about the place. It is a match made in heaven between a sports bar and comfort food. The ambiance resonates well with the type of food they are showcasing. Upon entering, you are greeted by the friendly staff in a wide spacious dining area decorated tastefully with sports memorabilia. What captivated me was the huge screens all over the place showing a different sports match on each (boys are gonna dig this place). Welcome to your first Sports Bar in Islamabad.

So, now moving on to the food the main thing on the menu that catches your eye is huge selection of, you guessed it, Wings available. The menu provided a good mix of flavours to choose from; some very familiar while others were bold and daring choices.  I counted 18 different varieties and you can get them in either traditional (breaded), naked (without skin and not breaded) and boneless. Wings are fried to perfection and tossed in dressings very generously. The price was same for all the flavours Rs. 485 for a serving with 5 wings, it may sound a little bit expensive but trust me they’re worth it. We ordered 3 different flavours.

Spicy Garlic Wings (9/10)
Oh so good. Spicy, delicious and the sauce was perfectly balanced. Something I could eat everyday!

Nuclear Mango Habanero (10/10)
So as you go higher up on the spice level, the fun begins. These were so good, the spicy mixture of Habanero sauce and sweetness of the mango was incredible! And as soon as the sweetness dissipates, you get this kick of the spice and trust me. It’s a kick alright. If you can’t take spicy food, stay clear!

Escobar’s Wrath Wings (broke the rating scale)
The spiciest wings I’ve ever had. The party trick of the restaurant I guess. Great as a novelty, but try at your own damn risk! I had a couple… sweat and tears later, 1 large bottle of water later.. I enjoyed the pain, but I think I’ll just dare you to try it and never have them again. I suggested they start serving a shot of milk with these. Seriously!

However, I did not like the fries, which were right out of a 'frozen fries packet bought from a super market'. Overall, a wonderful experience and I’m going back soon to try more of their huge menu! Also, it’d by the perfect spot to watch live sports matches that I’m sure are going to fill up this place as soon as the word gets out.

Mindanos

Are you searching out for an inexpensive eats or fine dining? Breakfast or late-night meal? Casual or business dinner? If yes, then You can get all this experience in one place-Mindanos.

Mindanos is Multi-Cuisine restaurant which serves lunch, dinner, drinks and coffees, located in F7 Markaz. I came to know about this restaurant through social media and heard some good reviews, So I thought, why not visit this place.

I visited with my friend. The place itself is beautifully color schemed and has a very nice ambience. The balcony at the back is marvelously decorated with lush green carpet. Staff were very welcoming at the reception and made us feel comfortable. We had heard about the Steaks and Molten lasagna (Specialty) but found out that a lot more is available and prices did not seem high either (Rs. 945 for each dish). The restaurant appeared very busy for the time of day, but still our order did not take long and within 15 minutes, we had our dishes with us.

The steak appeared fresh, delicately made and was accompanied by veggies and sauce, giving a beautiful multicolored look and The Molten Lasagna was pure sustenance (10/10). This dish surprised me as I have never tasted such a delicious lasagna in my life. When you cut into it.. the white sauce oozes out which is delightful to the taste buds. The Drinks were served immediately and staff ensured that all of our orders were exactly as we had requested.

Both of us were full by the time we finished the main course which means quantity was good enough. At last, Manager himself came and asked about the food and our experience to further improve their services. In the end; I must say this Eatery is worth visiting and The Molten lasagna is worth trying. So, Come on Guys! Go visit Mindanos.
