Wild Wings

Wings are my latest obsession, so it was only natural that I rushed to Wild Wings once I heard about the place. It is a match made in heaven between a sports bar and comfort food. The ambiance resonates well with the type of food they are showcasing. Upon entering, you are greeted by the friendly staff in a wide spacious dining area decorated tastefully with sports memorabilia. What captivated me was the huge screens all over the place showing a different sports match on each (boys are gonna dig this place). Welcome to your first Sports Bar in Islamabad.

So, now moving on to the food the main thing on the menu that catches your eye is huge selection of, you guessed it, Wings available. The menu provided a good mix of flavours to choose from; some very familiar while others were bold and daring choices.  I counted 18 different varieties and you can get them in either traditional (breaded), naked (without skin and not breaded) and boneless. Wings are fried to perfection and tossed in dressings very generously. The price was same for all the flavours Rs. 485 for a serving with 5 wings, it may sound a little bit expensive but trust me they’re worth it. We ordered 3 different flavours.

Spicy Garlic Wings (9/10)
Oh so good. Spicy, delicious and the sauce was perfectly balanced. Something I could eat everyday!

Nuclear Mango Habanero (10/10)
So as you go higher up on the spice level, the fun begins. These were so good, the spicy mixture of Habanero sauce and sweetness of the mango was incredible! And as soon as the sweetness dissipates, you get this kick of the spice and trust me. It’s a kick alright. If you can’t take spicy food, stay clear!

Escobar’s Wrath Wings (broke the rating scale)
The spiciest wings I’ve ever had. The party trick of the restaurant I guess. Great as a novelty, but try at your own damn risk! I had a couple… sweat and tears later, 1 large bottle of water later.. I enjoyed the pain, but I think I’ll just dare you to try it and never have them again. I suggested they start serving a shot of milk with these. Seriously!

However, I did not like the fries, which were right out of a 'frozen fries packet bought from a super market'. Overall, a wonderful experience and I’m going back soon to try more of their huge menu! Also, it’d by the perfect spot to watch live sports matches that I’m sure are going to fill up this place as soon as the word gets out.
